A punto de terminar las vacaciones, fui a "la capitá". En la primera librería me dijeron que tenían el libro que llevaba muchos meses buscando. "La historia de B" (Daniel Quinn, Ed: Emecé o Salamandra). Un resumen posible sería: la humanidad existe desde mucho antes de que empezase la historia escrita de nuestra civilización actual. Nuestra civilización es una entre diez mil experimentos, y es la más totalitaria y expansionista ("creced y multiplicad la tierra", "Dios es un tipo con barba", etc). Ningún problema con eso, salvo por el crecimiento exponencial. Sitio de Daniel Quinn

Hay "hechos" (arqueológicos, históricos, antropológicos) en otro libro que leí hace tiempo: El cáliz y la espada (Riane Eisler, Ed: Cuatro Vientos, Chile). Sitio de Riane Eisler

Me gustaría conseguir el libro Ishmael (Ismael, la salvación de la tierra), y los nuevos de Riane Eisler.

Otro libro de este verano ha sido el muy revelador "El cerebro: manual de instrucciones" (Ed Arena no sé qué). Nuestra red neuronal es una enorme sociedad darwiniana. Pequeños fallos dan lugar a grandes efectos. Hay quien tiene algo mal en la percepción (problemas en la estabilidad de la imagen al mirar a algo fijamente, como al leer) que les destroza la vida (baja autoestima, ingresos psiquiátricos, amenaza de lobotomía). Un daltónico es un daltónico, pero ¿seguro que tú y yo percibimos el mundo de la misma manera en cosas que no son el color? (Pistas: están el olor, la velocidad de procesamiento de los mensajes no verbales, la necesidad de novedades por "aburrimiento de los circuitos neuronales", etc.)

Si tengo un rato, quiero leer "Cerebros verdes fritos", una parodia sobre la psicoterapia y la autoayuda que puede que sea de más ayuda que los verdaderos. ¿El Quijote de los libros de autoayuda? Es pronto para decirlo porque no lo he leído, pero más bien es para dudarlo, en principio.

Ya pedí los 2 libros de Daniel Quinn a amazon.uk. Veremos qué tal.

El libro del cerebro es de la editorial Arena Abierta.

El de los cerebros verdes fritos es desigual, pero las partes que me gustaron me gustaron mucho. Es barato.

Que onda chavos he estado buscando por toda la web a alguien que tenga una copia de ishmael en espanol, yo vivo en el estado de nebraska en los estados unidos por lo cual se me dificulta aun mas conseguir una copia pero si les interesa, mi nobia tiene todos los libros de daniel quinn, ayudenme a encontrar una copia por favor, puedo leer ingles pero nada es mejor qu poder leer en mi tan queridisimo idioma espanol...
